saving jedit's layout?
I am wondering about how i can save all of jedit's layout so itll be exactly the same when i start it up the next time. so far the only thing that i've gotten to stay is the file manager to stay docked on my left. I always have to enable the line numbering and the buffertabs plugin. it's not a huge deal but there should be a way to keep those enabled, right?

Not sure about the buffertabs plugin, but line numbering and friends can be enabled in the global options: Utilities -> Global Options. Line numbering preference is located there in JEdit -> Gutter (or rather, it is there in 4.1. I don't know about the newer versions).

Save Jedit view
I use JEdit everyday. I work on multiple projects and sometimes different areas of the same project. With my previous editor (Windows -> Multiedit) I could save a session which would include all the files I had open in the session and the screen layot (which buffers were showing and where (split screen, often 4-8 buffers shown).
I don't know the language of JEDit well but have tried View->Save Docking Layout and it asks for a name but doesn't save what I would like it to. Not sure what Folding does (I think it is based on control structures like if, loops, etc. Anyone know how to save a View? Right now I am opening a second view and then changing layout, keeping all files from all projects open. |
