SARG taking too long to generate reports

Morning,

Recently I´ve been observing a strange behavior in my sarg report generation routine.
My average line count for access.log is about 250.000-300.000 daily.
And I´ve noticed my reports taking DAYS to generate.
This morning I checked my sarg process, and saw three running, the first of them having started last Thursday (today´s Monday).

I have no idea why this happening.
I tried running sarg with -z and -v parameters, but everything seens alright, but it takes a LOT of time to go from one IP records to another.

Anyone has ever seen anything like it?

Thank you

[EDIT]: For the record. This issue is happening in two Debian 4.0rc3.
I have other sites running Squid with a number of lines in access.log from 50.000 to 150.000, and their reports are created a LOT faster, altough they´re inferior hardware.

Hi -

If this were a Windows PC, I'd say it sounds an awful lot like you might have a virus.

It turns out that Sarg has at least one critical vulnerability:

You could probably do worse than downloading and installing the latest/greatest version of Sarg and seeing if it makes a difference.

PS:
Another suggestion, if that doesn't help, is to build sarg with "-g" (full debugger symbols) and attach to one of these "hung" sessions with gdb. The resulting stack trace should give some useful clues as to what's going on...
