Samba/Windows winbind questions

I am currently working with out NFS Linux box, Im setting up samba to pull windows logins and groups. Its able to query fine but when I attempt to chown a file to a "DOMAIN\user" account the uid of the NT account is conflicting with the uid of the local unix account. Basically my current local password file on the linux side has every company employee with their own uid that we use on the linux/solaris nfs side. I want to be able to use my Linux NFS server as a full windows file sharing without the hassles of admining local groups to lock down certain files. So this is why Im trying samba with winbind... Is this out of the range of samba and winbind or am I missing some setting somewhere?
