Samba Printing to XP HP DeskJet

I have just installed Samba on Red Hat 8 and am sharing my HP DeskJet 500 printer off my Windows XP machine.

I am able to communicate with the printer.

However, when I print something (ie. out of notepad) from the Linux machine, the printer prints garbage. On the first page, it prints
%%Creator: Gnome Print Version
Then several hexadecimal characters and more hexadecimal on several pages.

I have tried editing the postscript, text, and raw print driver from Linux.

What do you think is the problem?

Thanks.
