Hey, im trying out a knoppix live USB drive, and I love its suite of utilities it has included on the large (4GB, 7.20) iso. There is one I found really usefull, that I would love to use on other Linux Systems, but so far I havent found any generic GUIs for other linux systems.
Ive tried looking for "smbmount" but all I seem to be getting are commandline tools. Does anybody know how I can get this GUI type program work on other debian based systems ?

Depending on your GUI, this function may be embedded in your file browser. On my Gnome-based system, it looks like the attached screenshot.
So what youre saying is that the way smbmount is implemented might be dependent on my desktop environment?
Roughly yes.
However, smbmount itself is not part of your desktop environment, so to be more precise, the way smbmount is used in a graphical tool depends on your desktop environment.
Which shouldn't be a surprise, since it is the desktop environment that provides all the graphical tools.
