Samba Log Files

My question is quite simple.
I am using Redhat 9.0 with Samba-3.0.3-5.
Is it possible to determent who deleted shared files on Samba from a Windows computer?
Thanks.

not really, no. Samba does not do file auditing, it is just not it's responsibility. you can get plenty of debugging info though, by changing the "log level" value to 4 or 5 in your smb.conf which will then dump a LOT of debug info including who is looking at what files. but it's debugging info, not log info, so it's pretty cryptic and hard to use.

Thanks for the help. I though that is the case but just wanted to make 100% sure.
