I'm testing a samba setup with openldap.
I'm using the howto from Suse:
http://en.opensuse.org/Howto_setup_S...1_as_Samba_PDC
I've installed Suse 10.1 and followed the howto carefully.
When I'm to the section ' net getlocalsid', I get errors:
pdb backend ldapsam:ldap://127.0.0.1 did not correctly init (error was NT_STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER)
Warning: could not open passdb - local sid may not reflect passdb backend knowledge (such as the sid is stored in LDAP)
SID for domain xx is : S-1-5-21- blah-blah-blah
btw net rpc info gives the same SID
When i do smbpasswd -a root i get the following error:
pbd_int_ldapsam: SID ["S-1-5-21-XXXX} could not be read as a valid SID
pbd backend ldapsam: ldap://127.0.0.1 did not correctly init (error was NT_STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER)
loading ldapsam:ldap://127.0.0.1 failed!
failed to open passdb!
I can add users to ldap and slaptest was ok too.
Only I cannot add users to smbpasswd and set the passwords.
On a Windows XP box I can connect to the domain, but cannot join the domain. (invalid username or password)
This is driving me nuts.
If you need more info like smb.conf etc I can post it if necessary.
