Samba failed to set uid
Today should be a Monday...
Anyway, out of the blue, users can no longer connect to samba shares (running samba 3.0.24-1 on Fedora Core 5).
This is part of the error message I am receiving in their samba log:

Failed to set uid privileges to (-1,578) now set to (0,0)
