Samba Error on Mandrake 10.1

My network constits of a Linux machine with Mandrake 10.1 and a few Windows XP machines. I am having an error whie trying to connect to samba from the machine running it. The name of the machine is server1. This is defined in the /etc/hosts and in smb.conf. The error I receive when I try to connect is:

[root@server1 jason]# smbclient -L server1
Password:
Domain=[SERVER1] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.0.7]
tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME
[root@server1 jason]#

My smb.conf file:
workgroup = MSHOME
netbios name = server1
server string = Samba Server %v
printcap name = cups
load printers = yes
printing = cups
printer admin = @adm
log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
max log size = 50
map to guest = bad user
security = user
encrypt passwords = yes
smb passwd file = /etc/samba/smbpasswd

[printers]
comment = All Printers
path = /var/spool/samba
browseable = no
guest ok = yes
writable = no
printable = yes
create mode = 0700

use client driver = yes

[print$]
path = /var/lib/samba/printers
browseable = yes
write list = @adm root
guest ok = yes
inherit permissions = yes

[pdf-gen]
path = /var/tmp
guest ok = No
printable = Yes
comment = PDF Generator (only valid users)
printing = bsd
printcap name = cups
#print command = /usr/share/samba/scripts/print-pdf file path win_path recipient IP &
print command = /usr/share/samba/scripts/print-pdf "%s" "%H" "//%L/%u" "%m" "%I" "%J" &
lpq command = /bin/true

[wshare]
comment = Server Root
path = /var/www/
public = yes
writable = yes
read only = no

What I'm trying to achive is a file server with one share called wshare that is accesible and can be read and written to by anyone from any windows xp machine on my network.

Domain=[SERVER1] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.0.7]

That shows your workgroup as SERVER1 and not the expected MSHOME .
I wonder if that is because of this line in your config...
server string = Samba Server %v

Here is my output and a snip of the smb.conf....
Domain=[MYDOMAIN.COM] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.0.10-1.fc3]

[global]
# workgroup = NT-Domain-Name or Workgroup-Name
workgroup = mydomain.com
# server string is the equivalent of the NT Description field
server string = Samba Server

Also, maybe the command: testparm will help.

Note: Did you restart samba? Service smb restart
