Samba/cups printing

ok im trying to set up a printer on a windows box fro use on my gentoo box. Im using the cups config page and im not sure what to put in the device url page. right now i have
smb://servername/sharename this doesnt seem to be working. can anyone tell me what format to use or point me in the right direction.

I believe it would be //servername/printername
But then again it's been a while since I have used samba for printer sharing. Is there any usernames associated with accessing the printer?

by sharename i mean printername and no there are no user names associated with the printers
