Samba / Business Works

greetings!

my first post, so pardon the green. I'm running Samba 2.2.7 and have created an apps share for my business works (BW) application. It's all configured correctly, but the dog gone thing won't run on the client. It receives a dynamic library error and terminates the program. This leads me to believe that BW is trying to call on some windows functions which may not allow the program to run on the redhat server. I was wondering if anyone here had run into the same issue, or possibly some clues that may help to resolve said issue.

thanks in advance, and everyone have a happy new year.

I'm not familiar with BW, but imagine that if it were to try and set Microsoft filesystem (FAT or NTFS) attributes (read-only, archive, hidden, system) you could run into trouble.

Yes, if your trying to run a native windows application on a Linux server, most likely you will need wine installed to run it, etc.

Are you trying to run BW under Linux or under Windows with the files on a Samba share? If it's the latter, it's probably something like the difference between FILE.DLL and file.dll. Do you have any logs to look at?

sorry i should have mentioned that. I have the files on the samba share, and the client runs kinda a variety of flavors, 98/ME/XP. I've called their support and they are worthless. Where would i find these log files?
