samba again
Ok I had a post regarding a linking issue with samba, well by compiling and installing samba 3.0 I solved my linking issue. Now the reason I upgraded to samba 3.0 is that I had been running 2.2.3a the default debian package, and I was connecting with XP home ok, then I upgraded XP to SP1 and I lost connectivity, I did some research and it seemed to indicate that newer versions of samba removed this problem, well it didn't. I know this question has been asked before becuase I did a long time ago when I was runnig 2.2.3a. But I have to ask it again because I never really found out how to fix it.
When I try to logon to samba from XP it spits back my username with the computer name in front of it ie Alex\scheidel21 I added the computer (Alex) as a trusted machine account to samba, and this didn't resolve the issue, does anyone have an answer? Much appreciated. --Alex |
