Running Skype in DoD's Lightweight Portable Security 1.3.4
DoD's Lightweight Portable Security 1.3.4 is a gem for daily use, providing security, a lean clean desktop, automated network adapters detection and connection to public wired/wireless networks. It comes ready to view YouTube videos and listen to streaming audio. The file manager is Windows-like, with easy multiple source and target windows, and separately labeled right-click "Copy" and "Paste" (yes!!).
What is missing in LPS 1.3.4, is Skype, which would allow one to use LPS as a home phone, which is what I use my laptop for in Windows...
The distro boots from flashdrive in non-persistent mode, so while it does allow saving data as needed to the flashdrive, it does not retain any new software installation: I need an easy way to install Skype anew each time, when booting the laptop.
1- Can someone help with a streamlined manual procedure, to easily install Skype?
2- Or even better, create a cron-job-like file that I could run from the command line in LPS to install the program, from Skype install files saved in a data directory on the flashdrive.
Please give the solutions step-by-step, as I do not know Linux.

Reason: replacing a better but lazy copy of a question from another site - rewording here for my own question
