Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I've done a search but my question isn't 100% answered.
Basically, I've had it with Windows ME on my work computer. At least twice a day it complains about the registry, Office won't load up, IE crashes every 2nd page (and sends that blasted error report), and I can't open My Computer. (have to run everything from Start -> Run).
I have Mandrake 9.2 at home and I want to install it here at work. I already know that I can open Word and Excel files from OpenOffice, and check my emails and everything, and get on the Internet, ssh into my server, share files and folders, and my hardware's compatible. So I'm not concerned about all that.
What I am worried about is my company shelled out some dough for some proprietary software, namely Macromedia (Dreamweaver/fireworks/ColdFusion) and Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) that i use on a pretty regular basis. These are application for Windows. I have done a search on here and heard about wine, but all the people were asking about Word and such.
Can wine install and run my Macromedia/Adobe software, if not, is there something (open source) that can allow me to use them?
This is the only thing stopping me from upgrading to Linux.
