running Maya6 on gentoo with gcc 3.3.4

I have recently switched to gentoo from slack-current(July's version, i'm not sure exactly, when was last updated...). I've compiled all from source with gcc 3.3.4, I think. And yesterday I tried to install maya 6.0... i've copied the /usr/aw files from the targzs created by the rpm2targz utility, put the /usr/aw/maya6.0/lib path i /etc/ld.so.conf and ran ldconfig. Then ran maya.bin and there where no lib errors just a segmentation fault...Then I went to the alias.com site to see if there is some solution, and there I've read that the maya software is compiled with gcc 3.3.2, and if you compile plug-ins for it you should use exactly this 3.3.2 version of the compiler, because there is differences it the executable's format...

Is the a way that I can workaround this issue and use gcc3.3.4 instead of gcc3.3.2?

thanks in advance....

p.s. sorry for the poor English...it is not my native...
