"Rules.make" not found?

I've got some drivers to power my Hauppage Nova-T DVB Digital TV card, which require me to 'make' them into kernel modules. However, when I follow the instructions in the INSTALL file I get the following error message:

Quote:
Makefile:137: /usr/src/linux/Rules.make: No such file or directory
make: *** No rule to make target `/usr/src/linux/Rules.make'. Stop.
I've taken a peek in /usr/src/linux and sure enough, there is no Rules.make there. I know that kernel source directory is okay, I've compiled the currently running kernel using it successfully.

Do I need that file? How would I even go about making it? Should it be there normally?
Anyone got any advice at all?

This is a Suse 9.1 Pro box, with kernel 2.6.5-7.104 installed on it.

okay.. from digging around I've discovered that apparently the 2.6 kernel DVB drivers should work with my TV card (its very hard to dig up any ino with http://www.linuxtv.org currently down.) Looking in Suse hardware tool, it can see my card. It doesn't seem to load the 'budget' module on startup, but thats minor potatoes really. Having run 'modprobe budget' as root on a console screen, it still doesn't seem to be seen by any TV player?
