RubyGems "gem" command not working


Hey guys i has a bit of a problem =\

I recently install RubyGems successfully but when i go to install a rail the "gem" command doesn't work.

Can anyone help me and please post if you are having the same problem.

Which distro?
How installed?

Trying this as root or as normal user?

Debian/GNU Etch and yes i installed it several times and was root when i did so.
