Rsync Help

I have included the following in my /etc/rsyncd.conf file:

log file = /var/log/rsync.log

However, it seems this file never gets created. Furthermore, I don't see any log information in syslog either from rsync. I'm using Ubuntu.

Rsync is working fine but shows no logs (server side).

Any ideas?

in rsyncd.conf there can be sessions (beginning with: [name]), and the log file is valid only for that session. Try to move this settings before sessions. Probably you need also set the log level.

Yes I have the log file line before the session name (basically at the beginning of the file). I also just tried removing the line all together to see if it will start logging to syslog. But this will not work either. I'm starting to think this is a Ubuntu thing.
