Rsync & special characters

Hi,

I'm having trouble using Rsync on files with special characters.(,,...)
On redhat8 I was able to fix it by changing the LANG variable in /etc/sysconfig/i18n. (changing it to wa_BE@euro would do the trick)

Now I switched to SLES9 and the same issue occured, only changing the language in etc/sysconfig/language didn't help!!

I'm Rsyncing from a Novell server (w$nblows files) so i'm sure it has something to do with the coding of characters (i18n, utf-8,....) something like that.

Any pointers would be very appreciated!

Jan
