rsh problem

hi all
i am facing a problem with rsh . Although all other services like ssh, telnet are fine . I cannot rsh to my own machine . Nor can others with in the intranet rsh to my machine .

$rsh ps2955
rcmd: ps2955: short read
Any help . I have checked the rhosts file . Things look fine out there .

Why do you want rsh?

Can you ssh into your own machine? (I think ssh is actually a replacement for rsh anyway).

I hope this helps

Can you rsh into your own machine: "rsh localhost"?

If not, then you will need to install an rsh daemon, to listen for incomming rsh connections.

But: why do you want ssh, rsh and telnet - all have the same functionallity, but ssh is more secure than either rsh or telnet.
