Hi,
Could any one guide me in configuring rsh on SUSE Linux? I have "rsh and rsh-server" both installed on my system and remote system. but when i am connecting to remote system using rsh i am getting the "Connection refused " error. Could any one help in solving the problem.
yes, i can use "ssh" instead, but i have a tool that runs on UNIX/LINUX and that is using rsh for remote login, to make that tool work in LINUx, i want to know "rsh" configuration on Linux.
i also want to know RSA authentication in LINUX using rsh. we can login to remote system with out giving a password using RSA mechanism. is there any such mechanism for rsh also?
The r-tools don't allow public key authentication. They have their own mechanism, but it is so horribly insecure that it led to the abandonment of the r-tools. I would be doing you a dis-service to encourage you by telling you how to do it.
My advice is use ssh. Any tool which requires rsh should be considered a security hole, and you should stop using it.
OK; I generally use SSH only. i never used rsh and this is the first time, that i want to use at my college lab(security is not matter) for getting idea on rsh configuration and usage. Could you tell me the process.
