Im following the tutorial at this link to install rrdtool and work with PHP.

Now I have successfully installed rrdtool but when it comes to getting the php extension working i come into problems.

I downloaded the source for the extension and untarred it but im not sure if im putting the rrdtool folder in the right place.

My php source isnt at /usr/include/php5/ext/

It is at /etc/php5. I put the rrdtool folder in there from the extension i downloaded and tried sudo phpize but it said command not found.

Any suggestions?

Ok I think I have figured this out.

I need to recompile php with rrdtool for it to work.

I figured it out. It turns out that I needed the php5-devel package to run commands like phpize etc.

All installed and working now anyway.
