rpm test issue for CD compilation

All,

I have an issue with what I have as the latest rpm version and testing
an rpm repository for dependency issues. Why would I be having "error: error reading from file " issues? This did not occur when I was using a lower version of rpm was rpm-4.2.3-30.

I run my script 'testrpms.sh' and receive:

[root@CENTOS5-DEV RPMS]# testrpms.sh
warning: acl-2.2.23-5.3.el4.i386.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY,
key ID 443e1821
warning: curl-7.10.6-8.rhel3.i386.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY,
key ID 025e513b
warning: package curl = 7.10.6-8.rhel3 was already added, replacing
with curl >= 7.12.1-11.el4
warning: package glibc = 2.3.4-2.36 was already added, skipping glibc
< 2.3.4-2.36
error: error reading from file glibc-2.3.4-2.36.i686.rpm

BTW, this is my script:
[root@CENTOS5-DEV RPMS]# cat /mnt/images/iso/bin/testrpms.sh
#! /bin/bash
rm -f /tmp/testrpmdb/* && rpm --test --dbpath /tmp/testrpmdb -Uhv *.rpm
exit 0

In the RPM/ directory there are multiple files for different CPU build
versions:
glibc-2.3.4-2.36.i386.rpm
glibc-2.3.4-2.36.i686.rpm
...
kernel-2.6.9-55.EL.i586.rpm
kernel-2.6.9-55.EL.i686.rpm
...
kernel-2.6.9-55.EL.i586.rpm
kernel-2.6.9-55.EL.i686.rpm
...
[You get the point.]

My rpm version is:
[root@CENTOS5-DEV RPMS]# rpm -qa | grep rpm
rpm-libs-4.4.2-47.el5
rpm-python-4.4.2-47.el5
krpmbuilder-1.2-1
rpm-build-4.4.2-47.el5
rpm-devel-4.4.2-47.el5
redhat-rpm-config-8.0.45-17.el5.centos
rpm-4.4.2-47.el5

I have searched the Net, but to no avail. Thanks.

-Wes

One other thing...

... I can run the test by using the command line instead of the script for each one of the rpms and it works fine (ie: rpm --test --dbpath /tmp/testrpmdb -Uhv glibc-2.3.4-2.36.i686.rpm). No errors, but running as a whole or for a set of packages (ie: rpm --test --dbpath /tmp/testrpmdb -Uhv glibc-2.3.4-2.36.i?86.rpm), still doesn't work.
