help!
I need a amanda rpm file for a raidzone filer running: redhat 7.1 hardware i686 rpm version is rpm-4.0.2-8 I can't seem to find the correct amanda binaries... rpm says cannot install!! Thanks |
Post the specific error messages. You probably have a dependency. Red Carpet and apt4rpm are good at resolving them, but your distro is a little old, so perhaps they aren't supported now.
I really do suggest a read of How to get good answers with your questions about Linux and double posting is frowned upon. :tisk: Did you read the rules you agreed to? :study: # Redhat links RedHat Linux Manuals Get your mp3 support here Maximum RPM rpmfind Easier software management: apt4rpm - Red Carpet RedHat 8.0 Tips & Tricks # Redhat 7.3 down configuration commands setup leads to several configuration tools # Redhat 7.3 up configuration commands Configure soundcard: redhat-config-soundcard Configure X server: redhat-config-xfree86 Configure network: redhat-config-network Manage software: redhat-config-packages # Handling NTFS New Technology FileSystem (NTFS) HOWTOs Linux NTFS project # Cheap CDs Discount Linux CDs Linux Central Cheapbytes TuxCDs ComputerHelperGuy I suggest upgrading to release 7.3 and when you upgrade, choose expert and select the developmental packages and kernel source if you want to compile stuff. |
rpm error utput
# rpm -i ./amanda-server-2.4.4-1.i686.rpm
error: ./amanda-server-2.4.4-1.i686.rpm cannot be installed could it be that the rpm file was made with an rpm version that is above my rpm release? |
Verbose output please. Try the flags -Uvh
rpm -Uvh /path/to/amanda-server-2.4.4-1.i686.rpm |
more info on rpm
tried the rpm -Uvh, but it yielded no more new info...
I posted another question on gcc, sorry i thought they were unrelated... |
