rox & root....

hi...
when i'm using suse 9.0, logged in as the user, and i wanna edit a file that needs root to do it, i start rox as root, but no matter what editor i choose, i get a "command not in path" response...so i tried opening gedit, kwrite, kword...all from a terminal as root, and they say "command not found"
how to i add these things to my superuser path?

you could edit the following files:

a) /etc/login.defs

Code:
#
# The default PATH settings for root (used by login):
#
ENV_ROOTPATH /sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin

b) /etc/bash.bashrc.local

Code:
declare -x PATH=$PATH:/newpath
