Rosegarden - Audio Support

I am interested in using the RoseGarden music package. I am having trouble hearing any audio from it. When I run the program, JACK successfully runs. When I go to Settings | Configure Rosegarden..., then to 'Sequencer' it says 'MIDI OK, Audio OK'. I do not have a SoundFont installed (if someone could tell me what this is I'd appreciate it). My questions are as follows:

1. How can I get sound to work in this program?

2. Can I use this program to record my guitar music to the computer and add (drum) tracks to it?

3. Do I need any special hookups to connect my guitar to the computer? (I'm assuming I hook the guitar up to my input jack with an (3.5mm) adapter?
