I'm trying to rip music, and it always stalls at 98% of any track I try to rip.

I've tried ripping using KAudioCreator and the Konqueror 'drag and drop' way, with the same failure.

I can play music CD's using KsCD, and it plays fine.

I have tried enabling and disabling SCSI emulation.

Permissions for the device and link seem to be fine.

CD reader works fine with data discs.

I can boot into Wind'ohs and can rip using that drive without a problem.

Running Slack 9.0 on a P3. Attempting to rip using a standard ATAPI (sp) CD-ROM reader (i.e. not a burner)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm...some CD's don't allow you to rip. Other than that I'm not sure.

Nope. Trying right from the disc to MP3, using Lame through KAudioCreator. Also tried from the disc to ogg using the Konqueror drag-and-drop way, and they BOTH stall at 98%

This happened to me once on my windows box... was using CDex to rip an Air CD, and on one song, would get 98% and then fail. Tried it a few times (even restarted and tried again) but no luck. Then I tried iTunes to convert it to mp3 and it went without a hitch... no idea why
