Rip Audio Tracks from DVD using k3b
 

Does anyone know who to do this? I have zero experience with the app.

It is just a matter of putting in the audio cd then choosing from the Tools menu Rip Audio CD you need to make sure that you have libogg and liblame installed for .ogg and .mp3 files. Your probably going to want to go into the configuration and enabling the remote CDDB lookup if you are connect to the internet so you will get proper naming of the tracks does not seem to want to put the track number in the tag info for mp3 everything else seems to be put in there though if using ogg the track number is put in.

Thanks for the reply, but I was wondering how the audio tracks from a DVD, not a CD, could be ripped. I have a couple of concerts on DVD I would like to make audio mp3 of.

Duh!! yeah it probably be best to answer the question somehow I seen CD in there. You can use mplayer to get the audio to a .wav file then you could take the .wav import into audacity and chop out the sections you want exporting them to .mp3. To do this you could use Konqueror with the videodvd:/ in the url/Location bar then drag and drop the vob files once you have it/them you would use mplayer like this on the command line in the directory containing the vob file(s) to get the wav mplayer -vc null -vo null -aid 128 -ao pcm:file=file.wav VTS_01_1.VOB changing the file.wav and ...VOB names as needed then is just a matter of opening the wav in audacity selecting the section(s) you want to export to mp3.
