Hi,
I have been messing around with linux for a while, but i need some help on finding a good distrobution that is right for me. I have a Pentium 3 with 320 mb of RAM. I want a lgihtweight interface (lxde or enightenment or anything lighter) that looks like a Mac (ubuntu-ish, but not Ubuntu), and that can be installed easily. It needs to be able to get some of the ubuntu repos to if possible and have a simple command-line. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
PS: I need help to use VLC in firefox.

Reason: needed to add detail
Any possibility of upgrading your hardware? A good basic configuration (these are the minimum specs for Ubuntu but should be applicable to just about any distro):
Quote:
1 GHz CPU (x86 processor (Pentium 4 or better))
1 GiB RAM (system memory)
15 GB of hard-drive space
If you are stuck with the Pentium 3 then I recommend a "lightweight" distro; my personal Top Three are: CrunchBang, AntiX, SliTaz. If you want to stay with the Ubuntu family then your best bet is Lubuntu (Ubuntu + LXDE).
With 320MB you could run the following, all recommended
Bodhi with Enlightenment
WattOS (based on Ubuntu): the most configurable LXDE distro
SalineOS, Salix, Vector Standard, or ZevenOS with Xfce

Slackware should do the job. You will not be able to acess Ubuntu packages.
IT's a pentium 3 Katmai. would those distros work?
Yes. RAM is more important than speed. I once ran Ubuntu on a laptop with an underclocked Pentium M; it had 2GB of RAM, though. All Pentiums starting with Pentium Pro are compatible: only the Pentium I will give trouble with some distros.
