RH9 boot from grub commandline?

Hi

I have a dual boot machine RH9 + XP which has Grub as the boot loader. I moved home recently and when I set the machine up in the new place all I got was the Grub commandline... with the error message:

"error 18: selected cylinder exceeds maximum supported by BIOS"...
Since then I have trawled through the forum sites and worked out how to load xp as follows:

rootnoverify (hd0,0)
makeactive
chainloader +1
boot

Is there a similar way to load Linux from the grub command line?

Regards

Sounds to me something in your BIOS changed.. I would check there first as it probably went back to its default settings since it was unplugged and moved, perhaps you need a new cmos battery so this doesn't happen any longer..

Change BIOS settings?

Thanks...

Can anything be done about the current situation?

I can get into XP and I have updated the BIOS but havent as yet found a way back into Linux... Do I need to change the bios settings? if so how and to what settings?

C
