RH7.2 empty desktop problem

It's more then 3 times now that i install a pc with RH7,2 and i end up with an empty desktop with no access to start here...
Is it a bug or a bug between my ears... ( I'll go for the second)
why and how to get over that?

You could try to delete all the directory's from the home dir of that user
It are alle hidden dirs and files so try to delete .gnome* and .kde*

And look for other files that have to do with the desktop

If that will not work then there is something else happening but i do not know what
