RH 7.3 LILO Boot problem

Hi

I installed RH 7.3 and can't boot without the boot disk.

When LILO should come up, instead the machine hangs with the letter 'L' in the upper left corner of the screen.

First I installed RD 7.3 requesting LILO in the MBR. Then I tried again asking RH 7.3 to boot from the boot partition. Still the same problem.

Any ideas how I can fix this? It seems like the mbr is causing problems...?

Hi

I should have mentioned... /etc/lilo.conf exists and look ok.

I've also re-executed lilo to try and fix but the same problem always occurs.

Any comments?

please post lilo.conf

Was there any error message when you ran lilo?

Thanks for your reply, however I've now managed to get around the problem by installing grub over the top of lilo (I'm not using lilo now). I do prefer lilo but grub is working so that keeps me happy.
