RH 7.2 install and swap partition

I'm working on a Compaq 1.1GHz 20G HD with 384M RAM. I installed RH 7.2 on the single HD with Win2K occupying 9G, 1G for Win swap, and remainderfor RH. While installing RH partitions, I set up the recommended / and /boot partitions, but could not create a swap and /usr partition. The error response merely said they could not be created.

Questions:
1. Can I create a swap partition after the fact?
2. Can I rezie the / partition (now 9G) so that I could
3. create a /usr partition?

Should I target half of the W2K swap partition for the Linux swap? How?

Any help would be appreciated.

yes you can create swap after an install... you can use the mkswap command... man mkswap for more details.. also to turn on use swapon to start using it..
you can resize the partition, but it would be tough, might want to go third party software like partition magic..
yes, if you create a partition for /usr, you should be able to switch if over once created..

Wow! Fast reply. Thanks.

My version of PM understands ext2, but not ext3. Does that make any difference?

>>yes, if you create a partition for /usr, you should be able to switch if over once created..

"Switch over" means ... ? How do I do it? Or could I keep all of my info on / ?

Thanks again. This is a GREAT service!
