RH 7.1 install
I have a slightly cmplicated install problem. I downloaded and burned redhat software onto 2 cd's. The first computer I installed linux on using the cd's ran fine. It was a PIII 256MB RAM ATI video card, etc etc. It also had win2000 and winNT already loaded. The second computer I tried installing linux on (the problem computer) is mine at home that has winme, win2000 and rh linux 5.2 on it.
Whenever I try to install it boots up frm cd, like the first computer, initializes vmlinux or whateverand then asks for enlish an keyboard and whatever and then asks where to find the image, HD or CD when I say cdrom it says insert the cdrom, which is already in. and then it says no image found insert the cdrom. at this point i cannot eject the cd. This computer is slightly older than those at work and is a PII 400 128MB RAM vodoo 3 video
Now I have also installed linux using these same two cd's on 2 other computers all with no problem. These 2 other machines are dell servers, with 2 1gigHz CPU's 128mb ram 30gig raid hard drives.... The difference between a succesful install and an unsuccesful occuers after the hardware initialization with the little screen with the penguin a succesful install says starting anaconda and asks for the cd at a later screen while the unsucessful install never says starting anaconda.
If anyone can offer any sugestions, hints or advice that can jumpstart my installation I would be very happy. Thanks for reading my epilogue.
