I installed RedHat 7.1 on system with the following configuration:
Pentium III 1000 Mhz
ASUS CUSL2-C motherboard
256 MB Ram
3C905 (Fast Etherlink XL PCI) -- 3C905-TX
My problem is that the installation program will not recognize any network card that I install. I tried four different network that worked in other Linux machines but do not work on this machine.
I am able to install to Linux and get it running. I even configured networking in Linux through linuxconf and tried both the 3c59x.o and 3c90x.o modules. However, I am unable to use the network. When Linux boots up it displays a failure for the eth0 interface. Do you have any ideas?
I'm running the 3Com Boomerang/Vortex w/o probs. Does ure BIOS contain a setting called smptin like "PnP-OS" if it's on, set it to off, Linux will take care of it. Btw, whats the errors? Its always good to post 'em, heres no such thing as too much info...
