rezound doesn't record
 

I'm trying to use rezound to record some audio, but it doesn't seem to register anything that comes from the mic. This issue does not come up when I user rezound on dynebolic, but I don't want to have to boot my system into dynebolic everytime I want to record something. I'm part of the audio group and everything on the computer is installed from source

also, I choose not to use audacity because it's time line is off (it will continue to play recorded audio, even though it's hit the end of the recording)
