restore old MBR?

Anyone know how to restore an old Master Boot Record? Essentially, I dual boot with GRUB to load both XP and linux (XP on one hard drive, Linux on the second hard drive). I'd like to take the linux drive out all together and just make it an XP box. How can I do this? Is there a way to get rid of grub and auto load into XP? Or should I somehow try and load grub to the XP drive so that I can take out the linux drive.

Ideas?

Load up your XP cd and use fixmbr in the recovery console. You can then format your Linux partition. In my bookmarks (see my sig block) I have links to the MS support database which details how to do this.

Equally, just installing XP will overwrite your mbr and remove Grub altogether.

load with any win 98 stat up disk or floppy
at the
command prompt
#fdisk /mbr

will erase grub and rewrite windos mbr to it
