research Distributed computing for linux

I looking for a program which would use my computer when am not using it to process data for reasearch purposes. Such as reasearch in cancer etc etc

Ideally 64bit architecture because then it can take avantage of the computational power I have on offer when for example am watching tv.

Are you looking for something similar to SETI @ Home or distributed.net, or something else?

yes I looking for something similar except it's for medical research not searching for aliens lol. Why should we care about them when our own people are suffering from diseases which might potientially be cured? But nice idea never the less but personally I just couldn't care less

Hi,

have a look at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/

they offer many projects. Maybe there is a project you wish to participate.

Try Folding@Home. I use it on all my systems. It runs very nicely in the background. Their site has links to papers that have been written from the results.

You're welcome to join my team, Little White Dog (10763). We always like new folders.
