and i want to know how to customize the start up sequence..like i don't want to see all those services being started and all those other stuff...-to make it look easier for the new users (my friends) -i want to make a customize start ..how can i do that??
any e-books /articles ,how-to's..etc..
also i wanted to know how to convert vfat into ext3 file system..as i have switched over to Gnu/Linux completely .i don't need vfat drives where i have my mp3 and all other stuff...

One - if you don't want to see all the services starting up, edit /boot/grub/menu.lst or grub.conf, whichever RedHad uses. Change the splash=verbose to whatever it is that only shows the progress bar (read the grub docs).
Two - you don't. I haven't heard of any way to convert vfat to ext2 or ext3. What you can do is to mount the windows partition from Linux and access you files with Linux utilities. To use windows apps, you would need to use something like wine or winex. Mp3's should be addressable with Linux utils; without wine/winex.
Three - do some homework. Read some docs. Google is your friend. Use it wisely.
yes there should be a menu in the control panel - if not then there definately is on MDK10
thanks a lot...
yes i am reading ..-doing the homework..

thanks a lot
