Question Report Writer

I am using Linux and Postgres and need a simple report writer to create multiple reports from the data - any suggestions or experience with report writers?

To me a report writer is a person ... ? :)

What exactly are you trying to achieve?
Reports on which activities do you require?

Generally tools like awk would offer themselves for
repetitive tasks, in conjunction with a bash-script.

If the looks are important you could use awk in
bash-scripts to create LaTeX files ...
