Angry Replacement for xaudio?

Hi All,
I wonder if anyone can help... A couple of years ago, I created an interface to rxaudio (which used to be available from xaudio.com). I have noticed that for at least the last year, the download has not been possible any more

I used the fact that a pipe is created to the rxaudio software to enable full control of the playing by my interface - play, pause, FF, reverse etc. and this works a treat. However, I need to obtain a new copy of this software, and nowhere has it available. Has anyone come across an alternative package which allows full control without using X (my player runs in command mode only - no screen, mouse keyboard, only a keypad).

As I understand it, mplayer may be able to do this, but I am not sure how...

Your help would be most appreciated.

Tarquin
