remoting from windows to linux

total linux newbie. Just setup my first server, running fedora core 4. I want to do is to be able from work w/ my windows box to remote to my FC4 server and then go from there, unfortuately I've never really played with linux.

I looked into tightvnc, but doubt I set it up correctly. I was able to vnc from within the server to itself but not from say outside.

I should mention that it has 2 nics, one which directly connects to cable modem, other connects to router where rest of system is located.

what I'm hoping someone could help me with is how I setup tightvnc <on server/windows> simple step by step instructions so I can remote from work to my server.

I found this tutorial page:
http://www.vanemery.com/Linux/VNC/vnc-over-ssh.html

but got confused when it just said "SSH client configured" but didn't explain actual configuration

appreciate any assistance you can offer. PLEALSE HELP!!!

If you are just looking for a shell on your linux box then putty is a great ssh client. However if you would like an X-session (a graphical user interface) I have had real good luck with cygwin. There is a tutorial on this at http://www.linuxgazette.com/node/10376
