Remote control of windows systems

I am using suse on my workstation (I am a novice, having just jumped ship from XP) and i would like to remotely control a windows 98 system running an application that cannot run under suse. Sort of pcanywhere. Can it be done? Thanks, Alan

I don't really understand what you are trying to do, a few more details might help.

What windows program are you trying to run?
Have you tried running it under wine? If so then there other alternatives, it is possible to run two OS's at the same time, but it drastically reduces performance. Try VMware, or better still Win4lin, but only if you have exhausted all possibilities with wine.

Good luck

I use Actinic, an ecommerce package only available for windows. I have been advised that it is unlikely to run under wine as it uses MDAC, sends emails etc. I would like to leave it running on a dedicated machine (installed in the loo perhaps) and take control of it from my suse desktop.

Thanks, Alan

In that case, your question should be "how do I set up a network"

Not one of my subjects, but by linking your computers together you are able to control one from the other. Go search on google about setting networks up, and managing them.

Good luck
