Remote App and Desktop Access

Here I go,

I have been looking for this for quite some time now and all I can find is comercial software. I am hoping that someon has an ideal where I can find some open source apps that will do the trick.

What I would like to set up is a server so I can access mail and apps from any system that has internet conectivity throught a web browser.

I have already looked at the DynDNS for I am on a DSL connection I figure I will have to use a web hosting app now it is only the part of accessing the programs.

I know it sounds like I have not done much homework on this but I seem to be stuck finding all these comercial products. IE Citrix, New Moon.... and for the couple of apps and files that I would require find it much too costly.

Any help of direction would greatly help.

Have you tried looking at VNC ware?
i.e. TightVNC

This is a great product. It even works over SSH.

Give it a try...

Ya I am looking at it now but I was hoping for someting more seamless. I have seen this comercial app that has a web interface it uses the windows terminal services. http://www.tarantella.com/products/ciq/

Now call me a fool but does Linux have any such features available I have been out of touch and the last version of Linux that I have touched is Red Hat 6.2

LOL
