Remote admin via email.

Hi!

I would like to know if there is any "software" out there which allows me to control my Linux (slackware) machine via email.

For example, when I email to a certain account, my machine will be infinitely checking the account. Then it will decrypt the email with the key stored on the machine to check the authencity of the sender and for security reasons. Then check the validy of the command. And execute it. It will then respond by sending an email to the same email account or commander email to acknowledge the command being executed. Or to give status report.

Sort of ssh via email.

I googled for it, there is one such prog for Windoze.

I know this can be done fairly easy with perl script and email clients such as mutt. But I don't have the capabilities to program in perl (not even beginner) or bash (beginner). Would be interested if anyone of you would like to help develop such a program.

What is the driving force for such away to remote control/ remote admin a machine? If your machine is behind a very strict firewall which you do not have control of. This is away of accessing your machine legally.

You can control your machine from anywhere at all if you have internet connection, and email client. That's it.

Discussion is welcome. Maybe should start a sourceforge account for this.
