relocation error, gdk_threads_lock with nvidia drivers.

Hi.
I have just upgraded my video card to Geforce 6600GT. After I installed the newest drivers (designed for x86 architecture) available from nvidia.com I started to get the following error when trying to open firefox (or firefox installer):

relocation error: /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: gdk_threads_lock

All other apps seem to work properly. When I try to open it using root account, I encounter no problems.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
