Hello I am intrested in trying reiser4 on my pc
(i created reiser4 partition via ubuntu 5.10 ) the thing is that i dont want 2 use UBUNTU
How can i install pc-linuxos or suse 9.2 on it they dont support it out of the box?
how can i make them install on it ?.

With a lot of work. If they don't support Reiser4 out of the box then to do it properly you're going to need to grab the sources for the kernel used on the CD, patch it with reiser4, remaster a CD, burn and then install.

Sound like fun? If not, then pick a supported filesystem next time.

well pclinuxos is a live distro does that mean i can initially install the os then boot via a live cd then create a kernel wid reiser4 support and boot from that kernel (like you build your own kernel except that i would build in live and use it in the installed distro)

now i have suse 9.2 DVD and i cant burn a dvd right now so lets talk about pc-linux
basically its cd which is Livecd +install cd in one it has a file livecd.sqfs (wich kis 600+ mb and a folder ISOLINUX on the root (i mean when u open the cd )
in ISOLINUX u have following files
boot.cat , initrd.gz . isolinux.bin , isolinux.cfg , livecd_f2.msg , livecd.lss , livecd.msg , mediacheck , vmlinuz

what shoud I do not?
