reinstalling or upgrading KDE?

I'm on Mandrake 9.2 AMD64 and I think i screwed up KDE trying to urpmi some package (It said "the following packages have to be removed in order for others to be upgraded" or something to that effect and listed a couple pages of KDE packages).

But I want to upgrade to KDE 3.2.1 anyway. I've read a little on the KDE website, but it looks like that would just install into my home directory and create another copy of DKE or something? it sounds all messy, so how do I actually replace whatever is left on my system with the new KDE stuff? I can't find any good tutorials for my paticular situation...

Thanks a lot.

Your mail isn't clear enough for anyone to give you specific help, but I've never had any major problems upgrading using rpm files.

If it's telling you to remove something the command is...

rpm -e <package>

To then upgrade a package

rpm -Uvh <package>
