Question RegEx Supported Text Editor - Perl Flavor

Greetings, this is my first post to this forum so if I accidentally break any rules I appologize in advance. I am looking for a text editor that will support RegEx. In particular, the perl flavor. A freind of mine recently constructed many regex commands using SubEthaEdit for the mac. The only problem is the regex uses many of the powerful PERL commands like lookarounds and others. I have been unable to get these to work in any text editor that supports regex.
Can anyone reccomend one for my linux box that will have these powerful features supported?
