regarding man,vi,ls rpm packages

Hi All...
a newbie to linux..
My OS was Redhat Enterprise Server v 3.0 with kernel 2.4.21-15.EL
what i done so far was ......I remove the man,ls,vi commands and i downloaded the package of man, vi like man-pages-1.26-5.src.rpm , vim-6.1-390_1.src.rpm respectively through the net and installed successfully . after installation when i typed the command like man, vi ... i found that command not found in bash. then i checked with the following command..

# whereis man
then it doesn't show the required path like /usr/local/bin ....
similarly happens with vi command...

how should i recover this problem ? any help would be appreciated..

which is the package required for ls (list) command to download?

thanx in advance...

zameer ahmed syed.

It seems you downloaded the source rpms. Try binary ones without the .src. in the file name.

ls is provided by package called coreutils
